I thought I had Candace Owens pegged. Owens is a convenient conservative and a professional Black Best Friend (BFF.) She figured she could make a lot of money as a Black conservative. Owens was liberal, until she launched a lucrative scam being the lone Black person siding with Republican politics. And whenever the GOP needs someone to say something crazy and/or racist about Black people, she’s their go-to person.

There is a dearth of Black faces in the Republican Party, and an enterprising African-American can make a good living, and get a lot of publicity, if they decide to go over to the other side of the aisle. During the George W Bush administration, I knew several African-Americans who were considering making that move to benefit their careers.

I also knew an African-American reality show contestant who was heavily recruited to make the switch from Democrat to Republican and run for office.
