Black Conservatives Just Wised Up to the Candace Owens Con
Owens’ comments often align with white supremacist views
Candace Owens isn’t the first person to figure out how to profit off the right-wing entertainment media complex. It’s a lucrative gig. Other people, such as serial sexual abuser Bill O”Reilly, propagandist Sean Hannity and crackpot Glenn Beck, have all used it to become multi-millionaires. Evidently, there’s good money in selling garbage to conservatives.
But Owens, who seems to be following the Ann Coulter business model (saying something crazy and using the publicity to generate media appearances and book sales) seems to have worn out her welcome mat on the right.
Owens is a convenient conservative. She realized there was a dearth of black faces on conservative media, so she dropped her liberal views and fashioned herself as a conservative.
The Black White Nationalist
And it’s turned out to be a lucrative gig for her. According to Media Matters, she pulls in about $5,000 per speaking gig. However, since white nationalism is a large part of the Republican Party platform, Owens also backs this point of view — even though she’s an African American.
