Facing a fascist dictator, Israelis shut country down
If you haven’t been paying attention to what’s going on in Israel recently, I suggest you do. It could be a forerunner of what happens in the United States if former President Donald Trump returns to power.
Over the past few weeks, Israel has been rocked by massive demonstrations. The protests are because of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is trying to gain control over the nation’s highest court. Essentially, he would be able to overrule court decisions he doesn’t like. It should also be noted that Netanyahu, who is in his sixth term as prime minister, is facing corruption charges. So, being able to dismiss a court decision would be mighty handy for him.
“We all have to fight for our rights because of the plans of Benjamin Netanyahu that want to turn this nation into a dictatorship,” according to a protestor in a “Democracy Now!’ video.
