Why is the Right-Wing Media Lying About Covid-19?

Conservative media doesn’t care if Americans die from misinformation

This morning I read about Kristen Lowery, a California woman who died of Covid-19 after stating she would refuse to take the vaccine or wear a mask. In a Facebook post, she said she was “unmasked, and unvaccinated.” Now she’s “unbreathing.” Covid had the last laugh. The “Moron Massacre,” a term I coined a few weeks ago, strikes again.

Lowery seems to be a great candidate for the incredibly morbid Herman Cain Award. According to Slate, this is the unofficial award promoted by a Reddit group highlighting people who ignored the coronavirus and who later died from it. Cain, a former Republican presidential candidate, listened to former President Donald Trump and dismissed the coronavirus. He died in 2020 from a Covid-19 infection he likely contacted at a Trump rally in Tulsa, Okla. He didn’t wear a mask and was also a cancer survivor.
