When Trump Goes Full Dictator, Some Conservatives Will Stand With Him

When Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) published his infamous column encouraging President Donald Trump to send heavily-armored military units to hunt down left-wing activists, it sent a message. It was effectively a green-light for Trump to go full dictator.

Last week, several high-ranking retired military officers said the military should never be used on American citizens. But it seems that not all Republicans are on board with this. Some Republicans, like Cotton, have already signaled to Trump, they’re okay with authoritarianism.

This point was reaffirmed in a Tuesday, June 9, Washington Post column by Max Boot. He detailed several incidents of right-wingers declaring admiration for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Even more disturbing, some conservatives are also fans of Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin. They admire his stance on white nationalism and support for the church, and conveniently ignore minor issues like killing journalists and massive corruption. Putin is already liked by neo-fascists such as Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka. Former National Security Advisor Lt-Gen. Michael Flynn was also a Putin-lover who dined alongside him at an RT dinner and accepted payments from Russia.
