The United States has taken one more step along the path to becoming a fully-fledged banana republic. You know the kind of country where elections don’t really matter, and a family of grifters runs everything no matter how badly they govern.

Banana republics also don’t have independent judiciaries. The dictator’s family is shielded from prosecution and the tools of the state, the judiciary, the intelligence services and the police, are used to go after the dictator’s enemies. If that sounds familiar, it’s because that’s exactly what’s been going on over the last few days.

Friends of Trump Are Above The Law
