Tucker Carlson Interviews Trump; Both Come Away Looking Bad
FNC hosts neo-fascist meetup
Earlier this week, Tucker Carlson, the top-rated commentator at FOX “News” Channel (FNC,) interviewed former President Donald Trump. And it was hard to tell who was the bigger lying fascist. That description fits both of them.
The interview was supposed to give Trump a chance to clean up his image, which has been battered severely in recent weeks with his indictment, and promote his presidential campaign. But it was awkward, especially because Carlson was revealed to say that he secretly loathes Trump. Leaked emails from the Dominion Voting Software lawsuit revealed Carlson called Trump “a demon,” and said he couldn’t wait to be done with him.
This isn’t a shocking expose because if you have followed Carlson’s career, you’ve seen it take several twists and turns until he mutated into his current monstrous form. Several decades ago, Carlson was a normal right-wing commentator who appeared on CNN’s “Crossfire.” But then he moved to FNC and let his inner neo-Nazi freak flag fly because there’s big money in selling hate to the far-right. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and now Carlson all become multi-millionaires by pushing retrograde views to people who long for the Good Ol’ Days of segregation.
