Trump Trading Cards Are Latest Scam-of-the-Week
Former president feeds on MAGA army’s gullibility
One thing I’ve learned from writing about former president Donald Trump is there is no bottom. There is no scam low enough for the former president to exploit his easily-fooled cult members.
This was perfectly seen in his “major announcement” on Thursday. Political watchers thought it was going to be something serious, such as Trump announcing he was running for speaker of the House or announcing his vice president.
But I’ve been watching Trump long enough to know that he’s a born grifter. He always has a scheme up his sleeve. Also, the MAGA army is a target-rich environment of suckers. Trump, a modern-day P.T. Barnum, feeds on them the way a mosquito feeds on blood.
However, when the announcement was made, even I was shocked. Trump announced a collection of digital trading cards sold as non-fungible tokens (NFTs,) for the grand price of $99 each. The images include Trump as a superhero, shooting laser beams from his eyes, Trump as a cowboy and Trump riding a red, white and blue elephant!
And if you’re dumb enough to buy this crap, Trump has thrown in other prizes such as a round of golf at one of his “wonderful golf courses” and a zoom call.
