Why are people surprised that President Donald Trump’s first debate performance turned out to be a flaming hot mess? Have people been paying attention? This is how he operates; he’d rather create a bigger fire to distract from the four dumpster fires on his lawn. Tuesday’s debate performance was classic Trump.
Lack of preparation
Trump must be the laziest president in history. He spends hours watching TV, doesn’t read reports, even when they’re boiled down to a page, and would rather listen to the FOX News gargoyles than government experts who know what they’re talking about. I wasn’t surprised that he came into the debate unprepared.
I never believed he was doing debate prep. His strategy was obviously to create as much disruption as possible to stop Vice President Joe Biden from showing how much he knew. Two days later and we’re still talking about the interruptions, not policy.
