Almost a year into the coronavirus pandemic and with more than 400,000 people dead, we’ve learned a lot about this country and our fellow citizens. The coronavirus epidemic has taught us three important lessons. №1, Americans aren’t very smart; no. 2, Americans are selfish and no. 3, we need a national health care system that gives everyone access to quality care.

Aggressive ignorance

You would have thought that with thousands of people dying and hospitals packed to the rafters, people would pay attention to what was going on around them. But apparently not. It never ceases to amaze me how some people refuse to take the coronavirus seriously. A friend of mine had an associate whose family didn’t believe the coronavirus was real. His wife went home to visit her mother, who contracted the disease and died. Now he blames the Democrats and the Chinese!

One of my clients told me he had a business partner who refused to believe in the coronavirus, didn’t wear a mask and contracted the disease. That left him hospitalized, he also had a stroke and now one side of his body is paralyzed. When are these people going to start taking this seriously?
