Some Republicans Realize Trump Will Lead Them to Another Defeat

More GOPers are getting over Trump fever

There are small signs that some Republicans are finally taking a stance against former President Donald Trump.

Trump’s presidency was a disaster not just for the Republican Party but also for the country. His administration was chaotic and corrupt. He frequently sided with Russia, an adversary of the United States, and America’s standing in the world dropped during his presidency. And his term ended with an attempted coup!

However, the GOP’s reputation also suffered. Under Trump, the party lost the presidency, the House and the Senate. Normally, any party leader who oversees that kind of failure is banished and never heard from again. Unfortunately, these are unusual times.

Why Is Trump Still Popular?

Trump remains popular in the GOP. According to polls, he has about an 80% positive rating among Republican voters — even though the rest of the country sees him as a national security threat…
