Seymour Hersh Pushes Pro-Russian Propaganda
Legendary journalist claims US blew up Nord Stream pipeline
The case of Seymour Hersh, one of America’s most decorated investigative reporters, is a lesson for all of us. No one stays on top and anyone, even your favorite journalist, can be compromised.
Hersh is renowned for breaking stories such as the My Lai massacre from the Vietnam War and Abu Grabe torture scandal from the Iraq war. He has a reputation for hard-hitting stories. So, when “Democracy Now!” said he had a breaking story last week that uncovered the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline, I was eager to listen.
But I was sorely disappointed. In the interview, Hersh seemed to have lost it. He accused the media of being biased towards both sides and pushed a fanciful story about U.S. and NATO forces sabotaging the pipeline to get Europeans to back the war in Ukraine. If that wasn’t hard enough to believe, Hersh criticized Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky, saying that the war would be over in about a month — in Russia’s favor. He also claimed Zelensky was wasting lives and should cut a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
