I am just as horrified and baffled as you are. Back in 2016, I told a friend that if Trump was elected, America would be become the world's laughing stock. Look what happened?

I'm sorry to depress you. But as a journalist, my commitment is to the truth. I analyze the information and present a rational opinion. Sometimes that can be depressing.

Here's my analysis of the American political system. 50 percent don't care, 25 percent are insane, and that leaves 25 percent to do the right thing. No wonder we're in a mess.

Another point to note, about 30 percent of American cannot accurately process information. This point was aslo made by Chris Hedges in his book "Age of Illusion." To many Americans, 2+2=5. Why else would you make a conman/racist like Trump the most powerful man in the world?

How could that ever possibly end well?

Why do millions believe in garbarge like QAnon? Or believe hucksters such as Alex Jones?
