Republicans Upset Over Government Weaponization, But Trump Did It First
Former president didn’t just have an enemies’ list, he had an enemies’ folder!
Former President Donald Trump is attracting indictments faster than a rapper driving through Arizona smoking a joint. His latest is a 37-count federal indictment that accuses him of violating the Espionage Act, withholding a defense document, and lying to a federal investigator. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in jail.
Trump’s charges come from his lax handling of classified documents, something that he has long been accused of. However, Republicans have leaped to his defense. He currently has more than 50% support from GOP voters, and Republican presidential candidates are climbing over themselves to promise to pardon him if he’s convicted.
And according to the Republican National Committee, all GOP candidates are expected to pledge to support the eventual winner — even if he’s a convicted felon!
