Republicans Plan to Kill Jan. 6 Investigation with Death By 1,000 lies
GOP legislators want us to forget deaths, injuries, video, arrests
One thing about Republicans is they stick together, even if they’re selling a line of BS. This was evident during the House Oversight hearings on the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection on Wednesday. I sat through about four hours of the hearings and it was an exercise in restraint not to throw something heavy at my computer screen when watching the debacle.
It was a torturous experience because Republicans came determined to act as if nothing happened. I’ve written about this before and so I wasn’t surprised, but I wasn’t expecting the level of gaslighting that was on his display. It seemed every Republican at the hearing had the same go-to script. And the script read, “The Capitol Insurrection never happened.” They all followed the party line.
