I’ve been writing about Donald Trump’s political career for almost four years and after that long, it gets pretty easy to figure out how he operates. The Trump presidential run was a huge PR stunt that got out of hand. (He said it would be the best infomercial.) Even before he became president, he had a reputation in New York for being a scam artist. Writer Fran Lebowitz said he lost his home state because “everyone knew he was a con.”

“He has zero idea what this job is,” said Lebowitz in InsideHook. “So he conducts it the way I assume he conducted what Republicans call his real estate business, but what we know was, you know, some sort of hustle. You can only do that, by the way, if it’s an illegitimate business.”

Once he was in office, his presidency has been all about grifting, scamming and looking out for himself. Dr. Bandy Lee, a Yale-trained psychiatrist has described Trump as a narcissist, as have several other mental health professionals. So when Trump started hyping…
