Protesters Return To Riverside With Humorous Anti-Trump Signs
Local protesters among thousands around the country
Protesters returned to downtown Riverside to keep up the demonstrations against President Donald Trump’s administration. On Saturday, they lined both sides of University Street, holding placards, chanting and marching back and forth across the street. Some protesters amplified their voices with loudspeakers.
The signs showed a wide variety of creativity in their insults aimed at the president and his benefactor Elon Musk, who is in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE.) DOGE has torn into the federal government with cuts they claim were designed to target waste.
But the deep cuts are causing chaos as many essential workers have been fired and rehired. Also, many critics say the cuts are designed to protect Musk’s business interests. Musk gets billions in federal contracts for his companies, such as SpaceX.
More Signs, More Puns
Some signs attacked Musk, with one calling him a fascist. One sign claimed, “Putin Won,” and another accused Trump of using “brown shirts,” a reference to Nazi Germany, to terrorize the country. Others warned against cuts to SSI and urged the government to keep its hands off other social programs…
