The news has been full of political milestones, with the Dems keeping the Senate in the mid-terms, Karen Bass defeating billionaire Rick Caruso in the Los Angeles mayor’s race and Sen. Raphael Warnock defeating Herschel Walker in Georgia. I talked to veteran political analyst Earl Ofari Hutchinson to dig deeper into these issues. Here is my conversation.
Otiko: Were you surprised how close the Raphael Warnock-Herschel Warner race was in Georgia?
Hutchinson: No, Georgia at the state level is still a deep red state. Every major down-ballot state office is held by the GOP. So, it wouldn’t much matter whom the GOP nominated, even a nightmare of a candidate like Walker. They were guaranteed to do well.
Otiko: You accurately predicted that Karen Bass would win the Los Angeles mayor’s race. She did. How did she beat Rick Caruso and his billions?
