New Book Estimates Trump Made $1.7 Billion from the Government

Former president enriched himself on taxpayer money — just like a Third World tyrant

With its political violence, wannabe autocrat, and corruption, it’s clear that America’s beginning to look more like a Third World country. Unfortunately, all of those elements were found in former President Donald Trump’s administration. I always knew Trump was corrupt, but a new book by longtime Trump biographer David Cay Johnston has the receipts. The book is titled “The Big Cheat: How Donald Trump Fleeced America and Enriched Himself and His Family.”

According to Johnston, Trump ripped off the government to the tune of $1.7 billion. However, it wasn’t just Trump who had his hands in the cookie jar. Presidential son-in-law and “secretary of everything” Jared Kushner managed to erase more than $1 billion in business debt while he was in the White House.
