About 30 years ago, DC Comics predicted the future. In DC Comics, Lex Luthor, Superman’s arch-nemesis, has held various professions according to the age.

He first appeared as an evil scientist, because scientists had invented nuclear weapons that could destroy the world. Over the years, he has inhabited different professions that are seen as evil. In the ’80s he was a ruthless businessman, and at one point, he was a politician.

During the arc that described Luthor’s run to the White House, he staged a fake assassination attempt to create publicity and generate sympathy. Sound familiar?

The Propaganda President

Former President Donald Trump also built his presidential run on propaganda. He came down the golden escalator to cheering crowds. However, those crowds were paid actors. And he’s still paying crowds and staging fake events such as this weekend when he pretended to work at McDonald’s for all of 15 minutes.
