Local GOP Boss Claims Criticism of anti-Semite is ‘Cancel Culture’

Republicans continue to defend the indefensible

Idaho school board candidate David Reilly is an anti-Semite. And this is very clear in his statements. When you say things like Judaism is the “religion of anti-Christ” it’s pretty clear where you stand. He also has other far-right bona fides, such as attending the Unite the Right rally and railing against gay people and women.

But what’s interesting about Reilly is not that he holds these views; unfortunately, these kinds of opinions are pretty widespread in the GOP these days, but that he’s trying to run for elective office in Idaho. And what’s even more interesting is the local Republican Party’s attitude towards this candidate.

According to several news reports, Reilly seems to be intent on getting elected to office. He’s running for school board in Post Falls, Idaho. And before that, he was booted from a Pennsylvania school board because of his views. This is not surprising because having a neo-Nazi on your school board makes as much sense as having a child molester on the Board of Education.
