Haley’s campaign crashed and burned, just as I predicted
On Wednesday, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley finally ended her presidential campaign. And things turned out just like I predicted. She suffered racial abuse, sexist derision and never got the nomination. So, what did she achieve? Maybe positioning herself for 2028?
There were several reasons why Haley’s campaign never took flight. First, she’s the wrong candidate for her party. The GOP is a neo-fascist, white nationalist party. In its current form, the party was never going to make a second-generation Indian their standard bearer. I made this point last year and was correct.
Uphill Struggle
During the campaign, some Republicans savaged Haley by claiming she was ineligible to run for president because her parents weren’t naturalized citizens when she was born. Former President Donald Trump, who must be one of the most unoriginal people on this planet, attacked her with birther rumors. He also used birther smears on President Barack Obama. So, in 10 years he hasn’t come up with any new material.
