Is Michele Bachmann Crazy, a Zealot or Both?
Even out of office, former representative is still a threat to the country
--
When I saw a Gallup poll that showed that church attendance in the United States had dropped below 50%, I had to wonder if people like Michele Bachmann, the lunatic former Minnesota representative, played a role in that?
Some of the reasons driving young people away from the church in droves are homophobia and anti-science attitudes. Young people today grew up with the Internet and any piece of information at their fingertips. Mormons blame the Internet for their declining membership. However, it’s difficult to convince young people that the garden of Eden was in Missouri (a Mormon belief) when they can use their phone to prove that wrong.
It’s much the same with other parts of Christian dogma, such as the story of Noah’s Ark and other parts of the creation myth. It’s hard to argue these legends are valid when there’s lots of evidence to prove that they aren’t.
A theocratic United States?
Bachmann also exhibited many of these negative Evangelical traits. She was anti-gay and anti-science. According to an article in The Stillwater Gazette, she advocated for the teaching of creationism alongside science. Of course, this made her a perfect fit for the GOP. She also played a role in solidifying former President Donald Trump’s link to the Evangelical community, a marriage made in hell.
During the call, Bachmann also engaged in projection. She said, “You see this in third-world countries.” Actually, what’s “third world”-like is having the former president’s private militia attack the government and try to halt the installation of the new administration! That’s what Trump cultists did on Jan. 6!
