Medium writer thinks Hillary would have done a better job
Last week, I received a notification that Medium writer Danell teNyenhuis Black had praised my work. I read some of her articles and learned she was a former Trump supporter who had seen the light. I’ve always wanted to interview a former Trump supporter. So, I reached out to her. This is our conversation.
Have you always been interested in politics?
I’ve always followed politics, and I vote in every election, but I didn’t pay close attention to the issues. My parents were Republicans, so I followed in their footsteps.
My privilege probably dictated a lot of the political beliefs I had. I believed that everyone had the opportunity to work hard and be successful. I didn’t understand why we had to support people who just wanted to take government handouts. I also didn’t think that the government was very efficient, and I felt a lot of money was wasted. I was in favor of having more things run by the private sector.
