Flynn’s Coup Talk is Central Part of QAnon Delusion

Former national security advisor accidentally told the truth

It’s a sign of how bad things have got in the political realm when a former high-ranking government official suggests that the American military should overthrow the current democratically-elected administration. But that’s where we are. Over the weekend, former national security advisor Lt.-Gen. (rtd.) Michael Flynn said the military should install Donald Trump as president.

When asked why America couldn’t copy Myanmar, he said. “No reason. I mean, it should happen.”

By the way, he made this statement at a QAnon conference.

This is unsurprising behavior from Flynn. President Barack Obama fired him as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency after he made too many conspiratorial comments. Obama warned Trump not to hire him, but Trump, who reflexively did the opposite of what Obama did, brought him on board anyway. Flynn was convicted of lying to the FBI and pardoned by Trump. Over the years, he has proceeded to descend even further into the QAnon swamp.
