I’m tired of writing stories about QAnon cultist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) (I’m going to refer to her as MTG because I’m also tired of writing her name.) I’ve been writing about her rise to power and love of irrational conspiracy theories for six months, and I’m exhausted. I’d be happy never to write another MTG story, but she’s a national figure and I write about politics. Sometimes the story chooses the writer …

Greene finally got her comeuppance on Thursday. House Democrats voted to remove the QAnon congresswoman, who’s insulted practically every minority group, from committee assignments. But proving the stench of Trumpism still hangs in the air, Democrats didn’t secure enough votes to remove her from Congress. Only 11 Republicans voted against Greene, but 199 voted in her favor. (Removal requires a two-thirds vote.)

However, what’s even more disturbing is the Republican Party seems to be turning MTG into a cause celeb. They’ve cast her as a poor, little white woman whose being unfairly punished for her comments. But her remarks promote a neo-Nazi…
