CNN Report Downplays Republican’s Violent, Conspiratorial Side

Network’s ‘both sides’ attitude is failing viewers

Rep. Marcy Kaptur is in a race with a fascist conspiracy theorist. But CNN left that out of its report. (Manny Otiko/YouTube screengrab)

A recent report by CNN’s Dana Bash is another example of how the network is subtly moving its coverage to a “bothsiderism.” Normally that wouldn’t be wrong. Ideally, media outlets are supposed to look at both sides of the political spectrum and give them equal coverage.

But we don’t live in normal times. Less than two years ago, the former outgoing Republican president tried to overthrow the government and install himself as a dictator. His plan would have massacred several members of Congress. Former President Donald Trump still commands a dedicated army of delusional followers who will kill for him.

The Republican Party has gone over the edge and become a full-blown fascist party. However, the Democratic Party is still the large-tent political organization that includes far leftists, moderates and conservative Democrats. They are all willing to play by the rules and win elections by getting the most votes.
