Boris Johnson, Donald Trump Both Failed Their Way to the Top

British Prime Minister’s latest scandal was inevitable

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has always drawn comparisons with former President Donald Trump. And now Johnson seems to be on the brink of being thrown out of office, the similarities are even starker.

Johnson and Trump share a lot more than bad haircuts. Both of them led chaotic governments and were rejected by their constituents. Trump was booted out in the November 2020 elections, even though more than a year later, he refuses to acknowledge it. And Johnson is facing a revolt from his Conservative party since it was discovered that he flouted the same Covid rules he instituted.

Britain is currently going through a huge scandal (dubbed Partygate) regarding Johnson’s attendance of several parties in the middle of the 2020 Covid wave when most of the country was locked down. So while most Brits were holed up at home, away from friends and family, Johnson was chugging alcoholic drinks at several parties including one at 10 Downing…
