Boehner’s Trump 2020 Vote Shows He’s Part of Cult 45
Republicans would rather vote for a GOP criminal than a Democratic moderate

A few days ago, I penned a column that said former Speaker of the House John Boehner was one of those reasonable Country Club Republicans that you could work with. Turns out I talked too soon.
Boehner is just as corrupt and unhinged as the rest of the Trump-Republican party. I say that because I recently learned that Boehner voted for Trump in 2020.
“I voted for Donald Trump,” said Boehner in a Time interview. “I thought that his policies, by and large, mirrored the policies that I believed in. I thought the choices for the Supreme Court were top notch. At the end of the day, who gets nominated to the federal courts is really the most important thing a president does.”
Trump was awful; let’s give him another chance
In a CNN interview, Boehner refused to say he wouldn’t vote for Trump in 2024. Sometimes I wonder if Republicans listen to the words coming out of their mouths. Trump was impeached twice and inspired an insurrection and you’re actually considering giving him another chance? However, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) was blunt in her stance against Trump.
“I’ve been clear about my views about what happened on January 6th,” said Cheney in a FOX News interview. “I obviously voted to impeach him. I think that it was the gravest violation of an oath of office by any president in American history.”
Trump was corrupt, incompetent, treasonous and a pathological liar who told 30,000 falsehoods in office. But thousands of Republicans said they wanted him to be president again! In their minds, the Trump train wreck was better than a Biden White House.
