Trump presidency was four years of ‘Emperor’s New Clothes’

After reading Michael C. Bender’s “Frankly, We Did Win This Election,” I came away thinking that the best way to describe this book is with the three Ds; disorganization, deceit and delusion. Those are three words that accurately describe this book’s depiction of the Trump White House and the campaign to reelect the president.

We constantly see these three issues brought up in the book. For example, in the book’s early stages, presidential son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his wife Ivanka Trump arrive at an Iowa Caucus event with no idea what it is. So he googles, “what is a caucus?” And he was considered to be the brains of the campaign! It would be funny if it weren’t so tragic. These people ran the world by the seat of their pants. No wonder almost half a million Americans died from the coronavirus pandemic!

However, you find this thread constantly running through the Trump campaign and the Trump White House. People are in over their heads and have no idea what they’re doing. There are several cases of people who were hired to positions they had no experience in or were doing for the first…
